The rate of melanoma in Western Australia is increasing, with 1000 people being diagnosed each year. This means that one in 22 men and one in 35 women in our state are being diagnosed with melanoma within their lifetime. With this is mind this site has been created as an information tool to give all those with melanoma the oppurtunity to explore the various options available to them in their cancer journey. There is a emphasis on providing information to young adults and the middle aged, as melanoma is one of the most prevalent cancers within these age groups (the most common cancer between the ages of 15-24), and surviving melanoma has a strong link with early detection.

This site has been created to give the people of West Australia the information and knowledge to detect melanoma. It is also our intention to provide melanoma patients and their families with information and the melanomaWA Support Group to enable them to take control of their melanoma journey and CHOOSE TO LIVE.
